Tettenhall Wood School
Welcome to Tettenhall Wood School!
I’m very proud to be the Headteacher of this unique school, a school which is on a journey to become specialist in our field. We know this is going to take a lot of dedication, commitment, and stable leadership over a long period of time, and hopefully my appointment is the catalyst to achieving this.
At Tettenhall Wood School we recognise that children spend approximately 1,000,000 minutes in education through primary school, secondary school and 6th form. As an all through Autism Specialist School, many of our pupils spend their entire educational school life with us, every single one of those 1,000,000 minutes, so it’s imperative we make sure every minute counts. The school has now created developmental pathways, which will improve the trajectory of learning for our children. These pathways interlink to shape our One Million Minutes Curriculum Offer.
We take that responsibility seriously and ensure our pupils learn more and can do more than ever before. This commitment has been recognised by the National Autistic Society by granting the school Advanced status in the Autism Specialist Awards. This is just one of the amazing achievements our staff have earned through their hard work and commitment to our pupils.
If you are planning on visiting the school, we believe you see the caring environment provided by the excellent and supportive staff, enabling pupils to achieve to their potential and experience many enriching and positive experiences. The ‘can do’ attitude and constant strive to improve ensures that Tettenhall Wood School pupils are given the opportunity to succeed to the best of their ability. I am very proud of all the staff at the school and how they are fully committed in helping each young person make their individual progress and develop necessary knowledge to become integral members of society.
