Admissions

Pupils are admitted to Tettenhall Wood School following assessment of their educational needs at a pre-school level. Pupils are referred to the school through the Local Authority (LA) special needs placement officers and psychologists following the completion of a Statement of Special Educational Needs.

Occasionally pupils may be referred by the LA from other special schools. The majority of pupils join the school at the beginning of the academic year though some may be admitted at other times. In line with the requirements of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001 the school will make reasonable adjustments to avoid putting pupils with a disability at any disadvantage.

Every effort will be made to ensure that pupils with a disability are treated equally and given the same opportunities and experiences as other pupils. All parents/carers are encouraged to visit the school prior to their child’s admission.
